概述

密度是質量與體積之比:

ρ=mV\rho = \frac{m}{V}

其中 ρ\rho 為密度,mm 為質量,VV 為體積。密度常用單位有 g/cm^3kg/m^3lb/ft^3sl/ft^3

純水在 4 °C(39.2 °F) 時密度最大,約為 1000 kg/m^31.940 slug/ft^3。高於此溫度後,水膨脹導致密度下降。

比重量是重量與體積之比:

γ=mgV=ρg\gamma = \frac{m g}{V} = \rho g

其中 γ\gamma 為比重量,gg 為重力加速度。標準重力通常取 9.80665 m/s^232.17405 ft/s^2

工程要點

  • 密度-溫度關係不是線性的,因此體積膨脹係數在整個溫度範圍內不是常數。
  • 水在 4 °C 附近密度最大。這一異常現象在流體靜力學、自然對流、防凍和儲罐計算中很重要。
  • 在正常沸點以上,1 atm 表格不再是常壓下的液態水資料;原始來源是在飽和壓力下記載這些數值。
  • 壓力會增加液態水密度。壓力圖和高壓表格顯示 1 atm(或飽和)、1000 psi 和 10000 psi 之間的差異。
  • 在美制慣用單位表中,標準重力下 lbm/ft^3lbf/ft^3 數值相近,但密度和比重量是不同的物理量。
