MasterFormat Structure

MasterFormat is organized into two primary groups: Procurement and Contracting Requirements (Division 00) and the Specifications Group. The Specifications Group is further divided into five subgroups.

Subgroups Overview

  • General Requirements (Division 01): Administrative and procedural requirements for the project.
  • Facility Construction (Divisions 02-14): Covers building components from existing conditions and concrete to equipment and furnishings.
  • Facility Services (Divisions 21-28): Encompasses mechanical, electrical, plumbing, and communication systems.
